First list with new dex

o, went back to look over the new codex again at my local store and took my Iron Wing list - those of you who have been here for a while may remember some of my older battle reports - this list is taken directly from one of those just to kind of compare. I have to say, I am pretty dang excited by the new codex, I may have to put my Black Templars back in the warp...

Hopefully this isn't violating IP - I kept all points off and it is really just an old dex new dex comparison.

List under old Codex

You may notice that this list doesn't include the dreads - their swap to elites and the inability to take retinues (as far as I saw) messed with the force org - good riddance I say, they never lived up to potential - This list also has more termies and a whopping big 10 man unit!

So, what to do with the extra points... I know, I will use something I never had the choice of doing before - take daemons! Though I must admit I was tempted to take another land raider and make both of them dedicated transports for the escorts... I may yet do that, actually (it makes the list exactly 2000pts), but for now I am excited at the prospects of daemons!

I have the points for 18 daemons and am not sure whether to use them as 2 units of 9 or 3 units of 6 - for starters I will go with 3 units of 6 for the extra scoring units. If they end up being too fragile I will adjust accordingly. That leaves me 6 points to get an extra combi weapon or something.

And for those of you with whom fluff is important (such as myself) I will add that I don't use "Lash of Submission" I use "False Orders" to mislead enemy units.

I have been playing Black Templars and Witch Hunters a lot lately, though with the new Chaos Codex looming I have decided that I will likely return to the Eye and sally forth in search of vengeance.
